|  |  |  | Tori's Message for November 2008 The Month of Communication & Connection My experience says that more people get into trouble for what they don’t say, rather than for what they do express. Have you found that to be true for you? I’m reminded of a client who phoned me in a panic because she felt her boyfriend was going to dump her. When a shift happens in any relationship, we feel it, and her panic served as a form of evading confrontation. Yet, by working together, she was able to see that this was not the right match for her. She was able to step back into her own truth, and in turn, phone her boyfriend and lovingly agree to part ways. This is a very general example, I know, but how often do we avoid what is really going on? Rather than admit we’re hurt or ashamed, we hide behind vengeance or righteousness. Wow! How’s that for communication? Sometimes, it’s just about doing the right thing even when we’re upset. Take the example of anonymous email rage. I received email rage the other day in response to an employment ad I’d placed on Craigslist. The woman who sent it was mad and called me names. Rather than simply react, I took the time to address her from my heart, and it turned out that we share similar backgrounds. She even subscribed to my newsletter! This month is about connecting and communicating the truth…YOUR truth. If you forget who you are at the core, you may feel as if your existence is of no real consequence to others and behave that way, too. Yet, the truth is your simplest thoughts, words and actions have profound impacts. When you are able to step into the truth of who you are, you are then able to have loving communications and relate to others in new ways. This November, consider new ways of relating using the color blue. Blue vibrates through the 5th or throat chakra, which opens truth in communication. My meditation this month balances communication and opens our connection to the world at large. The November sky offers an abundance of blues - from turquoise to rich cobalt to blue-black. We can shift from upset to gratitude in all communications this month when we surround ourselves in blue. November can be magical, giving us the opportunity to see every communication is either a cry for help or an offer of love. “Blue harnesses clarity in all forms of communication and connection, from speaking your mind to contemplation and meditation,” Tori says. “It is a place that allows us to express ourselves as authentically as possible.” Remember to look at the colors of the season as reflective of your energetic state. Tori’s intuitive take on the meaning behind the colors we wear and surround ourselves with is like the zodiac. We are each innately cast into and gravitate toward certain color energies.
