Feeling empty? Maybe you are Successful!

In 2011, I jokingly programed Siri on my iphone to address me as “How may I help you international best-selling author?”

It’s hard to describe the calling of the Chakra Wisdom Oracle Cards, and the journey to get them published, but in 2013 they were published by Watkins Publishing, UK and it was the happiest time in my life.

In 2014 I sat on in my livingroom in Los Angeles, back from touring and speaking and quite simply exhausted. I accidently touched my phone and Siri spoke

“How can I help you international best-selling author?”

I laughed.

Whoa… I had set an intention without recognizing it at the time.

I had arrived, I mean after all, Siri said it.

But WAIT! Why I did I feel … EMPTY INSIDE?

Things were great. The cards were doing well, but I missed something. There as a misstep. I was profoundly unhappy in Los Angeles, and I had to make a life change.

At the time I owned a recording studio, a house in Los Angeles and I had stepped into success with the Chakra Wisdom Cards beyond any measurable frame of reference. I had interviews and personal appearances and an entirely new set of needs emerging and had given up my Spiritual Club to make room for the change.

A few weeks later in a team meeting I told everyone that I wanted my Spiritual Club back.

I missed my people.

I loved that group. My monthly club had members from all walks of life and I truly enjoyed the interaction with them and the deep connection we all felt. (I’m still friends with a few of the original members today). But I was simply overcommitted and couldn’t do it…

For the next 2 years I thought about the club often, feeling the loss. My intuition was saying: sell the house, sell the studio … get out.

My brain was telling me that I was crazy and my intuition was saying GO.

I went.

Sold the house.

Sold the Studio.

When I drove away from Los Angeles that day in October 2015 and headed for Asheville North Carolina, I didn’t recognize that it was the feeling of being empty in the face of success that was driving my decision.

I felt empty because I’d abandoned the one thing that made me feel that I was part of a bigger picture: my spiritual club.

Today sitting in my new home in Asheville North Carolina, listening to a thunderstorm tumble through the dark, I feel that I’ve come home. The emptiness that I felt is fading.

This is not about jumping off the cliff and growing wings, it’s about taking that leap of faith when you feel dramatically empty and knowing that being empty means you have to give up even more.

My friend Claire Zammit once said to me “Tori you teach intuition,” and of course it put me in upset that she simplified me. But she was right. I teach intuition, and I still love her for her honesty.
